Recent Art-Complishments

We were lucky enough to get a few special little challenges from the Brave Girl crew. One was an Apron Challenge and then we also got a Week 7 special task of which I also posted here.

It already was very pretty to start with

I added a bow and a charm at top then some appliques I got from Walmart

I found a B & G for Brave Girls and a 100% Girl

Of course I had to add a Princess to have a Princess Pocket

then more patches all around to add to the color

Week 7 Project work

I took this little book and added a ribbon into the spine and tied a bow and then some scrapbook pieces to the front

I added a paper in the front

more to the back
Sorry I am not quite back yet to be doing art all the time again yet. It seems like the process has gotten harder since I moved for various reasons but I am doing art still, just not as much as before.

I hope you like these little projects I did. I will try to do more this evening while doing my Monday TV watching. :) That seems to be a good time lately. Your comments are appreciated.

Some Art for a change

Some Art for a change

Warm Fuzzies
I was talking to someone about Warm Fuzzies and what it meant and it was related to be like 100 teddy bears and so thus this Canvas board was created in my mind and thus on the board.

Weeks 6 work go towards the light....lol

The before picture of my Promises book
I started working on my Promises book which I am giving a lot of thought to. So I at least started working on the cover and am happy to hear other BG's are giving this much thought too. :)
Before Promises book standing, chipboard and watercolor paper

Covered with scrapbook paper bought at Archivers

Added chipboard and printout I found online

Tissue paper, punch outs from Archivers, Mod Podged
Sorry I haven't posted in a week or so. I recently moved to a new town and new home with family. Getting accustomed to all of this has been a bit of a challenge. Where I live, new people, looking for work, etc. Plus, to be honest, I have been dragging my feet on the projects. I know I am not quite back up to full par yet, but I am "working on it" (those are my TRY words instead of TRY) so please bear with me.

Comments and encouragement is helpful  and appreciated :) Thank you

Lovey Dovey Truth Card

"You are more loved than you could ever imagine or understand"

Happy Sunday before Valentine's Day!

I used one of my watercolor cards I bought at the very beginning of this journey. There were twelve cards in the pack and they are of decent size. Then I sprayed the card using the Glimmer screen and sprayed the Heritage mist on the outside and the Cranberry on the inside. Then I removed the screen and blotted the color on the card. (Remember to clean your screen right away or it fries funny and stains). Then I sued another one of my blank thank you Paris cards and cut it up and used a part of it. I had a punch out heart from some card stock I bought at Joann's and then the Dream is from a package of Princess chipboard I bought for Cinderella Princess stuff. Silly I know but it was the closest to Princess things that matched what I wanted. Pluse once I took a Facebook test and it said if any character emulated my dreams and wishes of love and romance, Cinderella was it. I was actually shocked because I always thought I would get Sleeping Beauty because that is the one I think more closely resembles me, but Cinderella it is.

I did so much other creating today in my Art Journal today you should go over to my other blog to see what I did over there. :) If you don't see them yet just give me a minute as I am working on loading them! I did ALOT of Art Journal today for our homework this week! http://adgb.blogspot.com/

Keep doing your art and I hope I am inspiring someone, I know you are all inspiring me!

Let's Love , Love

It is the weekend of Love. No matter where we are in life, in our journeys with love, it is still happening. Vday. Valentine's Day. So in honor of this weekend and since I am sadly behind on a few art days I decided to make up for it by doing a Truth Canvas instead of a Truth Card today.

The truths listed on the Canvas are :

"You are worthy of love and friendship"
"So many people Love you"
"Be gentle with those you love...always"
"Let the pure love in...all the way in."
"Love is always the answer..."
"Love is Good"
"There is power in unconditional love. love for the sake of loving, even if this love is never returned.:
"You are loved exactly as you are."
"Let others love you. you will both be changed in the process."
Love without expecting anything in return...it feels really good."

"Do not lose hope in true love, it is what god wants for you."
This one I moved and saved for last because I am also going to take it over to my other blog and talk about it. I have been through two marriages and a few relationships. I will never lose hope no matter how my heart breaks. I am a dreamer. Dreamers never lose hope. that is why this truth is at the bottom of my canvas so I can always see it! :) It stands out among the others. JUST LIKE ME! :)

Paris card in the middle

silly me

I look like Vanna White :)

Love

I am loving my Love Truth Canvas

more Love to the Love Board! :)

Laughing at me loving my love board

Love truths
Red Glimmer mist used

Heart Glimmer stencil used

Mod Podge Rocks
I sprayed the canvas all over with the Glimmer mist Red spray and then dabbed it with tissue first. let it dry a bit. Then put stencil down and sprayed it again on one side so it was more red/pink like over there to the left of my canvas. then carefully lifted the stencil up. Then I blotted it again with tissue. then I cut out the Paris Blank cards I had and brushed on some Mod Podge.  Put the Doilies down, then the cards. I used K&Co Letter for the L-O-V-E and also K&Co raised stickers for the edge and the heart.

Then I went through my truth book of unused truths and found all the LOVE ones and cut them to get out of the extra white around the paper. Then I mod podged again around the outside areas of the card to put the truths down. I use tweezers and my fingers to do this. when i was in Creative Memories we used tweezers alot. I jsut use a cheap $1 pair since it is just for art. It made it alot easier and I am not screaming at the canvas for eating my truth! :)

Then I Mod Podged over the truths and took the whole thing into the bathroom andused my blow dryer to help the drying process. I tried the warm setting this time, but it actually wasn't working so I put it back to Hot. but caution, don't hold the dryer too close. One it will blow your circuit breaker. Two it will blow your dryer. I learned this along time ago so I am remembering to tell you now. If you do use a real hair dryer and not an embossing gun, then make sure you keep it a distance from the art and sway it back and forth over the art and not for too long. It is JUST a help for the drying process, it still needs time to dry on its own.

So there you go.... :)

Remeber to love, Love and enjoy crafting. :)

You are Amazing! You Can Do This!

I did A lot of Art today.I guess I needed to keep a lot of craziness away? i was ancy for the lesson and I really did not want to be thinking thoughts so I filled up my head with art. plus I had things I wanted to try some new techniques so I did that as well. I am having one of those things are kind of scattery today as well as you will see and hear by my video. :)

So I tried the new Glimmer Mist sprays I got with some new screens. I like this whole negative screen effect and how this concept works. I have seen this in other art like on pillows and on canvas but it has been awhile. I would like to find other screens but the thing I was thinking is how cool would it be to make your own screens? Like I have my own business and how cool would it be to make a screen for my business name and spray that onto art? Or what if you had a logo and did a negative cut out of the logo and sprayed that? wouldn't that be cool? Yeah, I thought so too.

The Truth says "You are Amazing. You are Powerful. You are Strong. you Can Do This!" I chose that one because the designs I chose were simple but powerful and I thought just like Melody says these Truth cards can be something we can put on our desks and something we can look at and remind us when we need them. I thought, well this could apply to anything and would be a good one for me or anyone even!

ThenI redid the cover on my Truth Keeper. This is where I keep all those unused truths that I keep cut up. This is what it looked like before I recovered it. It was a blank journal and it said The Story of My Life (funny huh?)

I glue or Mod Pdge the unused Truths in there. Sometimes I Write in there later or use them elsewhere like my Journal later.

Sometimes I just write in it if I feel it

I added a little HELLO sticker

A Picture of Me =Happiness
This week we are talking about This=This meaning what equals what in your life? what equals Happiness or what equals Bliss? And so on. When I was doing this recover I thought, you know these truths are About Me (which is why I added the About Me sticker below) and so when I was modeling I was very happy. That picture is when I first started modeling when I was 18 years old. when I see it, it makes me VERY happy. Modeling=Happiness. Also when I look at that I remember that my hair was SUPER long in that pic but it was layered so all you see is the front part but it went down to almost my knees in teh back and I got LOTS of attention. also that sweater dress, nylons and knee high boots were a hit that day. I remember I got that pic taken at Sears where my friend E worked and let's just say people were stumbling into things and over their words and tripping over their tongues. :) So when I see that pic I feel good again EVERY TIME :)

Picture=Smile
I used a Hallmark card to cover the book and wrapped it around and trimmed it to fit

me at 18 years, me at 40 years-same smile :)

I used the Mod podge srakle to keep the sparkle going since the card had sparkle on it. this was actually a Valentine card but I had to have it for this book. It was a $3.99 card and I knew when I bought it I was using it for this1 Is that funny or what? To buy a card SPECIFICALLY to take apart for something else? You know you are a serious artist when you are willing to spend money just so you can destroy it for art! LOL

The card jumped out at me. It was pink, there was a cute little park bench. Park Benches=Glee. Most people might not even know that. Hmm. one of those things Melody was talking about. Things you didn't even thing about coming out in your thoughts.

When I look at this card I think of Happiness I see pink, sparkles, pink and red hearts, a nice white wrought iron bench with fancy scrolls and a quaint little love pillow, pretty pink bows and pink trees.

This image makes my heart smile with happiness.

~It is like Happiness wrapped up in a hug~

Time

Barely on the clock. Just over. Well, I call it as making it so there. Someone needed me and that was more important but for me I haven't slept yet so today is still today, NYAH! It is funny the card I am calling Time because I barely made it on time. :)

this Truth Card has multiple Truths on it and was done on Card stock paper from you guess it K&CO and the only thing not K&CO is my lace doily.

The Truths are:

"Change is Necessary Embrace it."

"Be Willing to Walk Away"

"It is Time to Let this Go"
