Magical Creatures for 2013: Horse of a Different Color

One of the things I am exploring for 2013 is Magical Creatures or settings that MAKE them more magical. I have noticed I am drawn (no pun intended) to Stephanie Pui-Mun Law and the style she embodies. I picked up a book at the art store of Magical creatures and have begun working on a few sketches and designs.

Then after I Sktched it out on my homeade sketchbook I tried my hand at a few colors

I wasn't really fond of the Orangey color so when I colored it again I changed it up a bit. Then I drew some Bubbles and a Magical Waterscape to go with it. Not bad for starters, wouldn't you agree?!

So, what do you think of my Horse of a Different Color?

Zentangle-December Practice on JBY

Come on over to JBY if you want to join in the Zentangle Practice for December

http://anitavanhal.ning.com/group/2013-monthly-zentagle-challenge/forum/topics/december-practice-practice-practice-christmas-pudding-and-meo

Do you love to Zentangle? Have you always wanted to start? Do you think I have formed a new word and don't have a clue what I am saying? That's OKAY! I'll explain:
A Zentangle is a form of artistic meditation that uses repetitive patterns to create images.

A zentangle is usually done in black and white and the patterns have a rhythm. The ideal is to let yourself be carried away by the creative process and allow the design to grow organically.
The Challenge is to draw one Zentangle every month! For Beginners to Experienced! Whose with me?

Zentangle your way into 2013!!

I have decided to Challenge myself to Zentangle each month in 2013.

If you would like to join me in this glorious adventure come on over to Just be Yourself with my friend Anita Van Hael. Anita is allowing me a place to share this passion and challenge with others! I love JBY and for those who folloed my blog JBY is where I did the SOAR Challenge! (ah yes it is all coming back to you now)

This is for beginners and Experienced alike! I am NOT a teacher but I will give you some tips and tricks as we have open discussions and forums to share and talk about our Zentangles.

Each moth I will post a Challenge and Give you a template (for those who want it or need it).

You don't have to use the TEMPLATE!!! This is just a helpmate. Zentangling is about being free and letting the art flow. It IS also a great way of healing and letting things out. Even the artist who says "I can't draw a straight line" can do this, because it doesn't matter if you think you can draw! This is doolding to the enth degreee! What more fun is that?!?!?!

So come on down to JBY and join my Zentangle group!

Quoted Trisha Trixie

If some of you remember I was asked to fill out some information for Ask the Artist for Serena Kovalowsky. Well, the quoting has begun! In today's post I was quoted about what Artists I would collect.

Check out the blog here QUOTED TT on Ask The Artist

Michael Godard, Kush, Victor Ostrovsky and Salvador Dali. Godard has a unique niche that I really like – giving life to olives in martini glasses. Lush and Dali are surreal artists and I love surrealist work. Victor Ostrovsky was a former spy and he embodies that in his work.

Happy Scary and Creepy Halloween

I have been working on this piece to try and do something a bit more "frightening" this year. Not scary so much as creepy I guess.

This is from Boardwalk Empire.
