I have decided to Challenge myself to Zentangle each month in 2013.
If you would like to join me in this glorious adventure come on over to Just be Yourself with my friend Anita Van Hael. Anita is allowing me a place to share this passion and challenge with others! I love JBY and for those who folloed my blog JBY is where I did the SOAR Challenge! (ah yes it is all coming back to you now)
This is for beginners and Experienced alike! I am NOT a teacher but I will give you some tips and tricks as we have open discussions and forums to share and talk about our Zentangles.
Each moth I will post a Challenge and Give you a template (for those who want it or need it).
You don't have to use the TEMPLATE!!! This is just a helpmate. Zentangling is about being free and letting the art flow. It IS also a great way of healing and letting things out. Even the artist who says "I can't draw a straight line" can do this, because it doesn't matter if you think you can draw! This is doolding to the enth degreee! What more fun is that?!?!?!
So come on down to JBY and join my Zentangle group!

FaeryTale
This month for Willowing the challenge was Fairy Tales. Now while I am have been watching most of this time I have seen much about actual Fairy Tales like the Queen of Hearts and Red Riding Hood. But I wanted to put a different spin on this. When I saw the theme I immediately thought of Faeries. I have been leanring on my own about Fantasy Art so I thought this would be a great time to explore. So I did a "FaeryTale" of my own.
If you would like to do some challenges come join http://willowing.ning.com
So what do you think of my version of the theme?

Tree of Love Art Challenge Shwe Khit
This tutorial from Shwe Khit was great for a beginner like me! I was so excited to do this I stayed up until after 1 am....(I am becoming more and more like an artists every day lol)
I followed her tutorial and made my own "Digital Art" called Tree of Love.
We were tasked how to do everything and I could pretty much follow it even though I only have CS2. I had to improvise a bit on the brushes but I figured it out. Then we were to add out own quote and so I took from the Shiny Apple poem and made my own.
As alwasy I almost forgot to signed it, but after I saved it three ways (Photoshop, Jpeg, Png) the first time, then I added my own unique "digital signature" and the re-saved it three times again.
So here is my Digital Art-Tree of Love....What do you think?

Sketch of the Day "Walking Through Fire"
Sketch of the Day "Walking Through Fire"
Thank you for using Picture and Video Messaging by U.S. Cellular. See www.uscellular.com for info.
I am trying things out like J would do. He used to try out different methods of artist things and see which worked best. I saw he is doing a sketch a day and I thought that might be a nice way for me to keep up on my sketches so I don't have to do a huge blog for Sketchy Thoughts. Plus it keeps me being artistic daily. Now how to share that daily is the thought challenging me lately and right now.
One thing I have been doing it just Pencils. But I notice when I send the image no matter if I use my phone or camera they are not easy to see. So today I did something different. I used an ink pen today on top of my pencils. I think it helps so you can see it better now.
Then I have been playing around with Photobucket and posting straight to Twitter or messaging the picture from my phone. So far I think I like this method. I take the pic with my phone, then send it to a special Blogger.com email. In the message I put the info that is under the picture.
If I want I can do as I am now and Edit the post once on the site. But it is nice to know that if I am not able to, that I can just send the pic and it will post from there. I can post straight to Twitter but this way I get to say a bit about the sketch.
So here is to new artistic endeavors and new ways of sharing. (clink)
