Ironing: Recoverd: Remade into Fun

Being a retro kinda girl I actually like standing behind an ironing board and ironing. though is is just a table top I still would rather it be enjoyable. I hate this one because it looked all yucky and I haven't had a lot of time for art projects. So I decided to take recovering this on so I could iron some pieces for a modeling gig I had to do. Come check out what I did.

Old yucky cover
I put this cushion fabric down first

Then this sold stripe down next

Then I stapled the dickens out of it

Ta da a new cover

If you don't like something in your life, change it. That's what I do.

Vintage Eye Glass Case

All I wanted to focus on for 2013 was Art and Modeling/Fashion. What has happened is Modeling/Fashion took over. Not a bad thing but I was just itching to create, get my hands dirty kind of create, ya know?

My friend Keelia has inspired me back to my creative side and I had these vintage papers and a eye glass case I have been wanting to convert so tonight I dug my hands in and did some good creating! Check out my process from beginning to end.

And now the finished product...

Isn't it just so cute?

I will post this on my SensaFashion page as well if you are interested in purchasing it let me know here or there.

Magical Creatures for 2013: Horse of a Different Color

One of the things I am exploring for 2013 is Magical Creatures or settings that MAKE them more magical. I have noticed I am drawn (no pun intended) to Stephanie Pui-Mun Law and the style she embodies. I picked up a book at the art store of Magical creatures and have begun working on a few sketches and designs.

Then after I Sktched it out on my homeade sketchbook I tried my hand at a few colors

I wasn't really fond of the Orangey color so when I colored it again I changed it up a bit. Then I drew some Bubbles and a Magical Waterscape to go with it. Not bad for starters, wouldn't you agree?!

So, what do you think of my Horse of a Different Color?

Zentangle-December Practice on JBY

Come on over to JBY if you want to join in the Zentangle Practice for December

http://anitavanhal.ning.com/group/2013-monthly-zentagle-challenge/forum/topics/december-practice-practice-practice-christmas-pudding-and-meo

Do you love to Zentangle? Have you always wanted to start? Do you think I have formed a new word and don't have a clue what I am saying? That's OKAY! I'll explain:
A Zentangle is a form of artistic meditation that uses repetitive patterns to create images.

A zentangle is usually done in black and white and the patterns have a rhythm. The ideal is to let yourself be carried away by the creative process and allow the design to grow organically.
The Challenge is to draw one Zentangle every month! For Beginners to Experienced! Whose with me?
