How to...make a ledge for an Art Table

I found this great art table at Goodwill but it didn't have a ledge and all my things kept falling off. When I made my lightbox I used a metal piece and thena metal drill bit to screw it in. But I don't have a metal bit anymore available and so after racking my brain I saw a flat piece of wood at Hobby Lobby and devised a plan to make my ledge

How to...make a Leather Sketchbook Portfolio

I first want to credit that I got this idea from another artist friend of mine, Justin. He did his different than mine, but like always I have this ability to take something from someone else and leverage it for my own use. This is no different. IF you want to see how he put his sketchbooks together CLICK HERE

When I saw his post, I thought " Wait a minute! I have an unused Leather Portfolio hat I thought would be great for this. After some digging around in many boxes this weekend, I found the portfolio and put it to good use by putting together my own Sketchbook.

SteamPunk Femme Face

I drew this SteamPunk Femme Face some time ago with a variety of pencils but hadn't figured out how I wanted to finish it. I had other challenges on my plate so this kind of was put on a shelf. Yesterday I had to go to Hobby Lobby and get some graphite paper to transfer something onto a canvas I want to do (one I have already drawn and don't want to do it again) and while I was waiting for the employee to be able to get to me to answer a questions I walked around.

I found a great book on Drawing and Coloring digitally SteamPunk Characters and I just HAD to get it. IT was bent to heck and it was the last one so I asked and my Trisha charm won them over I guess because they gave me 40% off!!

So after a few other things I had to do today, I pulled this pic out and colored away!

Now you see the results and the first of many more SteamPunk Femme Faces and Figures to come!!

What do you think?

Beach Girl

I started this one originally for my friend's birthday but then I happened to be working on the Mermaid challenge at the same time so I sent him that one instead. But I will send him this one too now that I am done (even though it is a bit late). You see he is a former surfer boy. Grew up in Huntington Beach. Lives on the beach now. He is one of those boys that loves his Beach Girls.

Plus I have been trying to do more figures, especially since I saw I have hit the halfway point on my faces (25 faces woo hoo) but I still need 13 more figures to equate. So I am pulling out the ones I have been wanting to color and getting those drawn and colored.

So what do you think of my Beach Girl (Ok I confess this one was adapted from a picture of me jsut like Strawberonade Fairy was as well. We ARE our own best subjects aren't we?)
