CED-Autumn Quote Book

I have been working on this Autumn quote book from a book about how to do Projects. This was a kewl project that you were supposed to do by making an accordion book and using envelopes and homemade tags.

I used Wheat paper and with help made some tags.

I used cardboard from a leftover notepad for my front and back cover.

I used folded over bags, with polka dotted Smash Tape to hold the sides in.

I used a handheld hole punch to punch the cardboard to put some jump rings into

I added Ribbons to the jump rings to give it some character.

I went to Archivers to find some Quote stickers and used some for the inside and some for the cover. I think I might get some more to add to it. Then I thought I might use some Brave Girl quotes for the inside of the book as well.

I had help punching holes in the tags. I added ribbons and some key embellishemnts I got at Archivers for the end of the tags.

All in all I think the book is coming along quite nicely. :) What do you think?

Create Every Day-What I did for Week One: Theme Autumn

Learned how to draw a Digital Owl, I have been practicing drawing regular owls, I drew two whimisical trees as a part of my "Draw 10 Trees" goal for October, started a quotation book (I plan to finish up this weekend), went through my In Style Fashion book and tore out sheets with Autumn clothes theme, put together a Broadway Playlist (makes me think of Autumn for some reason-perhaps because I go to more shows in the Fall), worked on Declaration of You (not necc Autumn theme but something I am doing in the Autumn time), Put office together for Autumn artistic goodness, Drew a Spooky Ghost, went to a garden to look at the leaves and enjoy the Autumn outdoors and snap some Autumn pics, 

and now blogging and sharing my Autmnness with you. :)

I did some homework on how people are drawing owls all sorts of ways. I did a few thumbnail type sketches and drew a few of them to get an idea of what I liked or thought was cute. Then I went into a few of my online tools to swee what I had to work with, since I don't have Adobe anymore (long story for another day) I tried to use Gimp but I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted this time. So I opened up Paint and thought I would give it a go. I looked at a couple of examples but then did it freely on my own. I have Graphic Design friends and I did go to Brooks College for Graphic Design so I do know some things about the digital tools. I have wantched friends do creative things with the tools so I tried a few of those out.

I drew the circle, then uses the bending lines to tweak the wings. I did the eyes in multiples of circles and remembered watching how the sparkle in eyes were done. I saw a few owls colored different colors so I added this as well. Then I did like a few arms I saw that were hearts but they were turned sideways and I couldn't figure out how to rotate my owl's arms, so I left it. Then I added the circles to teh wings while I was still on the circle tool. I used the fill tool to fill the rest in but it was WAAY over pixelated so I zoomed in and used the eyedropper tool and the brush tool to go over the areas slowly. On a couple I went too fast and had to go back and redo it but as it worked out I think it looks ok. It isn't GREAT but honeslty I feel,

"Hmm, not bad for my first digital owl!"

Declaration of You Book

I have ventured into a new course called Declaration of You. We can keep our sheets in whatever format we desire and so I wanted to put mine together creatively but eco friendly. I took a Recycled Binder and covered it all up pretty and gave it my FLAIR! When I make things creatively I know I do better about desiring to do the work and getting excited about the class or course.
