Born a Survivor...Been a Survivor..Be a Survivor

I have been through a lot lately. I have been through a lot my whole life. I thought it was just when I was younger, but come to find out it was since I was born. I was frustrated and so I started cleaning out the basement again of my things. I felt like my mother...give this away, give that away, throw this away throw that away...and then my last box I came upon some letters. Letters from family and friends and a pack of letters my mother sent me one for every day of the week.  I found some old pictures of me to go with it even. I used a baby picture of me at 4 months old and the other picture is me at my first Jaycees Convention. I decided to cut one up and use it in my SOAR journal and share a bit about it with you...

My mother had been taking chemo and radiation in 1969 and was told after 3 years from the birth of my sister that she would never get pregnant again. I almost was aborted because of the potential dangers. They went through with it after praying about it. Once I was born I was tested for mental defects and could have been born without limbs so she says in the letter (On a bad day count your fingers and toes and give thanks)

She says "Now God had a plan for your life from the beginning. God did not bring into this world under Ordinary circumstances and your life has never been nor will ever be Ordinary. No matter how hard you TRY to be Ordinary you never will be. God will send Extraordinary people to take you where you want to go. Your life is destined to be Extraordinary. Anyone who does not see the AWESOME person youa re Patricia, youhave to know they are not being honest with you or themself. People can only be who they are. Love them, but not more than you."

You have always been a survivor
She goes onto say "You will always be a Survivor, because God planted that seed in you before you were born. You survived a pregnancy that should not have ever survived.Your first trip down the farm house was the basement steps 6 months into the pregnancy. Yet you survived. You may not have been born because of Chemo in me. Yet you survived. You have survived since before you were born, after you were born and you have survived ever since. You survived falling on the only patch of basement on 80 acres of farmland with nothing but mere stitches. You survived having a rake fall on your head and cut your skull wide open, surviving with no permanent damage and coming out of it unscathed. The doctor has said you were a miracle since the day you were born. You just keep surviving.  You survived being molested, rape, beaten, abused a death of your father at 10 yeas of age, continuous pains and heartaches, on going losses of many things in your life, yet through it all...

You Survive.

You Will Always Be a Survivor.

"What you are here to teach and to learn may never catch up with you, but for sure, you will gain a new power to control your destiny. That Destiny is greater than anything you can ever imagine. Always surround yourself with people who Beleiv in You..the Wonderful, Caring, Loving person you are."

A Warrior for my Dragoness

As some of you know, I am currently participating in Willowing's Art Challenge for the month of January to draw a dragon. I started on the dragoness and sketched out a warrior on a ledge to go with the Dragoness I am drawing. Tonight I turned on some tunes and sat down to work on the warrior. Even though the challenge is for a Dragon I felt moved to have this Warrior with my Dragoness.  I think I am most draw to it because I feel as "I" am a warrior.

A warrior:

A person who is actively engaged in battle, conflict or warfare

Here are my drawings from tonight. I used the reference from Dragon Hunters. I lightboxed the outline ONLY. The remaining inside drawing, shading and effects are all me.

The Warrior
I still have to finish up the Dragoness. My other artist friends draw all teh time so they are much more skilled and quicker at it than me. I can do it, but it takes SO long. Let's just say I am glad I have the month.

No Sew Sachet

I do KNOW how to sew but I actually am not that fond of it. I am currently working on a piece of clothing that I plan to put together completely using No stitch glue and maybe velcro or ties here or there.

This is a little sachet I made using the glue and not ounce of sewing was involved.

I bought some Fresh Lavender from All Spice here in Des Moines

Measured for size

Turned the right sides facing each other and glued then waited for glue to dry

Once dry I turned it inside out and put the Lavender in

I glued up the top and then tied it off with this cute pink ribbon
Ta DA a little sachet I can smell when feeling stressed or need an olfactory cleanse!

(Smelling Lavendar is part of my De Suckify List)

Old Sketches and Posing Kitty Dude

In an effort to organize and clean up a bit more I found this old skethbook of things I had drawn. Eyes and faces, etc. While I was organizing and had piles of papers over the floor Duded sat and helped by telling me like all men how I was doing it wrong.

Mommy that's messy, you really should clean that up

I found some eyes I did

More animated eyes for Manga and anaimals

Windy my manga character
Then I found some drawings I was going to put in my Mangashon book. Manga and Fashion...MangaShon. Yeah, well, some drawings happened but I always put too much on my plate so this didn't happen either.
An Asain lady I drew for my Manga Book

Manga Shoes

Dude say "Whatdya want?"

Then he turned his back on me and told me to keep cleaning up

Here is another Fashion picture I drew

Close up of fashion

Then I was snapping up more pics of Dude and got him not ready

Hey I wasn't ready!!!
See posing! "Aren't I such a pretty kitty?"
Yes Dude youa re are a pretty kitty.

Much better

A Blissbombed Board-Hell No Hell Yes

I have been reading and receiving notes, letters from Blissbombed and  Stephanie St. Claire and amazing and power inspiration to get through this time in my life (duhn duhn duhn)...A Break Up. One of the things I received recently was the Hell No Hell Yes blog.

The first time I read it,
I cried.
The second time I read it,
I smiled
The third time I read it,
I decided it MUST be a Blissbombed Board.

I just had to have it on something I could see, read and regularly view and remind myself of these things. Some of the words speak to me more than others, but either way when I walk by my dresser and see this Blissbombed Board, I am remind to stay true to myself, and say Hell No to the wrong things and Hell Yes to the right things.

The ones that jump because they are former men in my life are listed below (this is just the ones that spoke tome but there are more on the blog)

Blissbombed Board

No to the man who doesn’t have his financial life in order.
No to the man who starves you with very little communication or time together to keep you wanting him.
No to the man who describes your relationship as ‘complicated.’
No to the man who gets drunk and becomes a possessive asshole.
No to the man whose security comes from you wanting him.
No to the man who calls your emotions ‘drama.’
No to the man who habitually escapes life with video games, pot, porn,
or self-help books.

Yes to the man who keeps figuring out what he wants.
Yes to the man who tries to communicate with God.
Yes to the man who goes on with his own life while he’s waiting for you.
Yes to the man who really tries to see it from your point of view no matter how much sense you’re not making.
Yes to the man who takes note of your favorite things and gives them to you.
Yes to the man who works his ass off every day.
Yes to the man who asks you what you need.
Yes to the man who wants to be your best friend.
Yes to the man who’s own self-respect is the top of his priority list.
Yes to the man who is skilled at having difficult conversations and doesn’t fight back with blaming, silence, yelling, or amnesia.
Yes to the man who lets you lavish your love on him and helps you bloom as a woman in the process.
Yes to the man who knows his worth, his liquor limit, his day rate, and his sell point.

Go find the man who you can say yes to …. and say YES!

Living Radiantly

I haven't had time to work on my Radiant Goddess things as much but I did take some time to use a Sticker book I had and made a collage of veggies and fruits and something to make me smile

Then I used an old calendar, cut out a few sheets and glued them in a for a base or by iteself

Then I glued the Sunflowers...upside down LOL Oh well
When I hear certain things they have been really sparking my creativity. I think it is because I am living so Radiantly. I used to pass them off but now when I hear here I have to jot them down or scribble them out
In Goddess Leonie's You Have Permission she mentioned climbing up a ladder to the clouds, this little sketch just had to come out of my head

The path to Love is the path to the heart. I am going to make this bigger as a reminder

Also in an effort to live Radiantly I put my Twinkle Lights back up
I really like Twinkle Lights.

They make me happy.

They warm my heart and keep my soul at PEACE which is my Word for this year. I already had them up I just have forgot to light them lately. So I plugged in and actually smiled a nice warm smile.

Keep living Radiantly! I know I will
